We use two (2) Dakota 440 Topdressers to get your topdressing completed fast and effectively. We can apply topdressing at your desired rate, evenly, and are capable of spreading both damp and dry material.

Why topdress? The answer is very lengthy, and as with all turfgrass science, there are many variables. But generally speaking sand topdressing dilutes the thatch layer accumulation. It also fills aeration holes or verticut slits…because an empty hole (or slit) will inevitably fill back in with organic matter (thatch). It also helps protect the crown of the grass plants (the most important part of the grass plant). For these reasons topdressing is a staple practice for all sports surfaces.
