Ninja Tines
Time to vent…
Solid venting tines provide the soil and thatch venting you need at depths up to 6 inches with a standard Toro 648 aerator. However, if you are struggling with thatch accumulation you may be interested in incorporating Ninja Tines into your program. Very simply, Ninja tines vent the top 1” to 2” of your putting surface and remove thatch which is easily blown off the green. The impact on playability is very little, and no more than you experience with solid venting tines. We have many customers who use Ninja tines monthly, and in addition to deeper venting with solid JRM Infinity venting tines.
What are Ninja Tines?
Ninja Tines are an innovative tine designed to remove organic material only. The tine pulls a small diameter core and will not disrupt the putting surface. You can play right behind it! (after blowing off the small cores). They have a unique “bird mouth” style tip which prevents clogging… small diameter tines with round holes clog very easily, but not the Ninja tine!
What aerators are they compatible with?
The mounting shank of the Ninja Tine is a 3/8" mount. You will need a tine block from your manufacturer that can handle that mount. For Toro ProCore 648, you will need a Quad Tine Head (10 Tine) or (6 Tine).
What's the benefit?
Rather than solid tine, you can remove up to 1% OM each time you use Ninja Tines - depending upon your hole spacing setting.
